A chance meeting. Our eyes met with mutual shock. We both froze. She slowly dragged her gun up to the level of my chin and squeezed the trigger. Jammed. I stumbled forward woodenly as the Maverick misfired again, my hand swinging out to clip the human's gun arm. She collapsed into the snow laden bushes with her arms flung wide like a newly-made martyr. I grasped her arm firmly and said "Shit man, are you a Mod?"
